When logged in as postmaster, Portal Preferences is available under Mail Settings with the following settings:

  • Aliases
  • Global Signature
  • Portal-wide Whitelist & Blacklist

Alias

Aliases are forwarding addresses at the server level. This means any email sent to an alias, is immediately redirected to the recipients on the alias before it goes through any filtering, including spam. Aliases are useful as distribution lists for portal users, external contacts, or even a combination of both.

Global Signature & Portal-wide White/Blacklist

When enabled, the Global Signature appears on all outgoing email sent from the web portal.

While each user has their own whitelist (ensures sender's email is never marked as spam) and blacklist (always flags sender's mail as spam), postmaster can set portal-wide email addresses, or even entire email domains, as whitelisted or blacklisted.

An individual user's whitelist and blacklist will take priority over any entries in the portal-wide white/blacklist.

To enter an entire domain, use an *. For example, to blacklist all email sent from any address from ihatespam.com, enter *@ihatespam.com in the blacklist.
