Keep the following in mind when trying to recover files:
When files are deleted, the system tags them for deletion and moves them into a “recycle bin” folder until they are manually purged.
Only the group Owner or Administrator can purge files. Files can be purged one at a time or all at once.
Once a file is purged it cannot be restored.
All users can restore a deleted - but not purged - file from the recycle bin. Files are restored to their original location along with their associated metadata.
To restore/purge a file, follow these steps:
On the Shared Documents page, click the Recycle Bin button.
The Recycle Bin appears.
In this page you will see all the files and folders that were deleted from the Shared Documents.
Beside each file or folder you will see two links Restore which is used to restore the file to its original place from the Recycle Bin; and Purge which is used to remove the file permanently from the Recycle Bin.
Note: Only the group owner or the group administrator can purge a file from the recycle bin. Refer to the Features Access Privileges topic in this help file for additional information.’
The Empty Recycle Bin button at the top of the page is used to purge all the files and folders in the Recycle Bin.
Note: Only the group owner or the group administrator can empty the recycle bin. Refer to the Features Access Privileges topic in this help file for additional information.’
Note: Once a file is purged from the Recycle Bin it cannot be recovered.
