myWebOS.com Changes Its Name to WebOS * Former Manugistics CFO Joins WebOS Management Team * Explosive Growth Spurs New Headquarters

( Thursday June 1 2000 )

COLUMBIA, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 1, 2000-- myWebOS.com, which empowers businesses to embrace and use the Internet as the ultimate operating system, today announced that the company has changed its name to WebOS (www.webos.com).

The change reflects a strategic vision to create a revolutionary Internet application platform and infrastructure that make business applications and services accessible from a multitude of devices -- from anywhere at anytime.

In addition to the new name, WebOS announced that the company has attracted a leading software industry veteran, Peter Repetti to take on the roles of chief financial officer and chief operating officer. In his new position with WebOS, Repetti will head the company's operations and financial functions. As former executive vice president and chief financial officer at Manugistics (Nasdaq: MANU - news), Repetti's extensive knowledge and experience with an early-stage technology company will help to propel WebOS toward long-term growth. While at Manugistics, Repetti provided the strategic financial management that facilitated its rapid growth as one of the world's leading vendors of supply chain management software applications and services.

Talent and experience like Peter's is scarce in our industry, so we are very fortunate to have him on board,'' said Shervin Pishevar, founder and CEO of WebOS. ``While at Manugistics, Peter saw revenue growth rise from $38 million to over $200 million in just five years. Similarly, five acquisitions, a $65 million follow-on stock offering and an increase of almost $2 billion in market capitalization highlighted his tenure of steady, managed growth at that company. Peter's accomplishments make him an outstanding addition to our executive management team.

WebOS's focus on enabling universal access to tightly integrated applications and services on the Web has positioned it to capitalize on the markets' rapid transition to web-based applications,'' said Repetti. ``I'm committed to making sure that we operate in a way that maintains our leadership position and enables us to capture this unique opportunity.

WebOS is already showing signs of capturing the market. The privately-held company recently outgrew its original headquarters in Baltimore, MD. Spurred by rapid growth, WebOS has relocated its headquarters to an 8,000 square foot office space in Columbia, MD. Currently, WebOS has approximately 20 employees in the new location and anticipates reaching 50 by the end of the year. The company has also opened additional offices in the San Francisco area for its planned West Coast expansion.
